Well, fundamentally the Language of Dance deals with the use of movement in the pursuit of truth. In this sense, the "rules" of Ancient Language are reflective of the way truth can be preserved in our language and in our thought while using one Glyph or set of Glyphs to infer another statement. It is the way people normally pose when they move successfully - that is - when their movement gets them closer to the truth rather than farther away from it. The glyphs identify patterns or principles of movement and express this in some formal way - a way that is not dependent on the subject being depicted.

The interest is in knowing the truth, in movement. Much of who we are, of the people we have become (and are yet to become) is due to our beliefs and values. Often the source of these beliefs are other people - our parents, heroes, politicians and friends. The individuals that we have and becoming are based to a large extent on the movement of others, (what other people have shown us).

The kind of movement created can take several forms: There is a rhetorical power of the presentation - focusing on the style, poise or demeanor of the Glyph. The literary merit of the Glyph --focusing on the novelty or creativity of the pose. These two elements give a voice to the glyphs and provide a rational strength to the composition.
